After hosting of the first Horse Show at Dibrugarh District Planters club and the subsequent formation of the Equestrian Federation of Assam a number of Equestrian National and International events were organised in Assam and North East India to promote the sport. The important ones among them are:

All India Police Equestrian Meet at Guwahati, Assam in 1998, organised by Assam Police.
Equestrian Federation of Assam played a key role in ensuring equestrian events are held in the V th National Games at Imphal, Manipur in 1999
