Tent Pegging, an ancient cavalry sport, has its origin in the Indian subcontinent. The sport has a huge popularity base in the Indian subcontinent and presently is a regional discipline with the FEI. The sport consists of the following events:

Team Lance
Individual Sword
Team Sword
Rings and Pegs
Indian File
Lemon and Pegs
Paired Sword / Lance
Out of the above list of events, Individual and Team Lance and Sword events constitutes the normal events for the purpose of championships and are obligatory where as the rest of the events are optional / special events. All events are conducted as per the FEI rules, which can be downloaded from the FEI website.
Dibrugarh, the picturesque tea town of upper Assam has been the host city for a number of International meets and has played a major role in the revival of International Tent Pegging movement.
